I was living in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where Frederic Remington lived his last few years and where he died. That got me interested in his work, so I went up to the Remington Museum in New York. Well, I knew right then I had to go out West and do cowboy art. I'd read about Santa Fe and I decided to move out there and do Western art.
