Gib was selected as an official artist for the U.S. Olympic Team competing in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. China. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of his Olympian bronzes helped fund the U.S. Team.
The sculpture was displayed in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games and pieces from this edition are in the collections of the International Olympic Committee Museum (Lausanne, Switzerland), the United States Olympic Committee Museum (Colorado Springs, Colorado), and the American Sport Art Museum + Archives at the Sports Academy (Daphne, Alabama).
