Martina Yeon

Still Life

Martina Yeon was born in South Korea in 1962. She showed early artistic promise and studied painting both at school and at the University of Korea between 1978 and 1984. Afterwards she gained a qualification as a Fine Arts Teacher which was awarded by the Korean Ministry of Education.

From 1985 until 1989 she studied the Old Master paintings of the 17th and 18th century and showed her work in various exhibitions in Korea. In 1991 Martina moved to Spain where she studied Spanish Masters such as Goya and Velazquez.

The artist is now settled in Spain and is painting still life works in her own individual style. Although still influenced by the Old Masters Martina is now painting traditional compositions with a new contemporary realism. Her attention to detail is remarkable and her excellent draftsmanship is employed to perfection in her exquisitely painted flowers.
